And if it’s any consolation, the bezel wrapped around the buffing wheel appears to have a mirror shine! :D

Funny how that piece just won't work now! :D As soon as my fingers heal up to where I can hold something without them hurting or spitting blood I'll start on the body trim that needs polishing. Jamie good idea on the nut as that has caused me extra work in the past.
Until then there are a few things that I can finish off like bleeding the brakes and re-aligning my doors with these thick door seals now flattened out a bit.

Yes, I've heard hydraulic fluid works great for healing cuts. Kind of like Neosporin in reverse.

Any words of wisdom for installing door seals? Did you start gluing down in the middle of the bottom like the factory did, or did you start at the bottom along the side (at the start of the channel)?

I started at the back door edged about 6" up from the bottom, then went up and a round and left the floor portion until last as its the toughest to get to lay down...lots of tape for sure. The good thing there is the sill trim will hold it down later. Make sure there is a good fit in the curve portions as it has a tendency to want to pull there. Other than that it's not to bad just wished I had bought OEM as I'm sure it would have allowed my doors to close better. Good luck Steve!

Can someone tell me what is suppose to go around the MC shaft to seal on the firewall?
Also can someone tell me what the bracket on the passenger fender by the battery is suppose to do as well?
Thanks!!

There's a plastic seal that goes there. I don't think anyone sells them but ones from newer cars should work. PITA to find. I was able to cobble two together to get to work. I think there are pics in my build thread.

I saw what you did in your build Jamie, interesting end piece. I do have some kind of rubber coming off the MC now but it's way to small for the hole in the firewall. If these aren't available then I think I will just get some thin rubber and cut a hole for the shaft and then slide it under the MC bracket using the 4 holes there. :hmm:

While that should work I think Ford wanted the diaphragm to breath from the cab, not the contaminated air in the engine bay. Every maker has them breathing that way. Some flavor of rubber hose should work too. Old radiator hose maybe? Done nicely it'll look like it belongs and would probably be better than the way I went.

Mine has a plastic tube. If I could not find something to work, I’d probably try to fabricate a piece of hose or a metal tube with rubber ends... I think Jamie is right about the booster getting air form the cabin vs the engine compartment.

As for the bracket on the right fender, mine doesn’t have anything except the solenoid, horn relay and battery tray over there, the jack goes on the left inner fender.

Got a picture?

So on the MC I have this rubber hose/tube which has a small hole towards the firewall, do you have a pic of the plastic I assume goes thru the firewall on to this rubber?

The bracket doesn’t look factory to me, someone using it for a battery hold down? Battery hold down should have two long J screws and a cross bar (the part number for the cross bar is superseded to a plastic one...

Let me see if I can find the picture I have.

Wonder what I did with that when I put the Optima in... :hmm:

Pray for me, my mind is going.
