Yes! Updates on both fronts!

Parts truck: going to get the body donor truck this Saturday to haul it to my friends place where he will remove all of the body panels off of the cab (possibly, we may just cut the frame between the cab and bed. We're still uncertain.) It will be a 6 hour round trip for me, since my friend lives 1.5 hours away and the truck is 1.5 hours from him! But I simply cannot beat the deal, so it is well worth it.

House: Turns out, a passing septic is NOT required to obtain a loan on a house, which is great, because we could move forward with the buying process! However, as a buyer, I am still asking for it to be fixed, so 15K from the sale of the house is being set aside in an escrow account to replace the septic.
The temporary closing date is March 9th, so if all goes well, the trucks (and my family  ) will have a new home!

Awesome news HD! Good luck on the Move and the House! As for cutting the frame, think about that. You could turn that frame into a trailer for hauling stuff at the new house!

Hang in there - moves are always stressful, but this one sounds like it will be worth it in the end! :hd:

Well,

I broke a brake line in my winter-time daily driver before even picking up the trailer, however, being an hour and a half away from home, we decided to risk it and get the truck anyhow. With a lot of careful maneuvering we got it home safe. Was a 9 hour trip, total, but completely worth it.
Then spent 6 hours fixing my daily yesterday. Made for a long weekend, but I know I'll never find a deal that good again.

Now it sits at Dylan's house so he can disassemble what he needs and then I will bring it home for the body swap!

Wow, glad you made it home safe. At least you have some good stories about the pick of that truck for years to come!

Manny, exactly. Why they would ever use uncoated steel lines for the brakes and gas lines is beyond me...

In other news, Dylan has begun tearing down the donor and setting aside the front end sheet metal for me. Can't wait to go back down and bring it home!

That's awesome that it's getting under way. For the daily check rock auto bruce brought a whole stainless line set to get rid of the issue.
