Trucks been having battery and charging problems this last week. Took the alt in and it failed. Gonna have em test the new one and mine again tomorrow.
Get proper ground for battery and go through the wiring again. Including from the fuse box and instrument panel so i will hopefully get anything that might b grounding out.

Just got.done doing a run through in my engine bay with my buddy little john today. Got grounds all sorted. New starter cable that i ran under and along the engine perch..zip tied to.my tranny cooler lines. And up.
New alternator since my old one started.to die out.
Battery is now.charging at 14.5 and drops to 14.3 with lights and wipers on.
How could i tell if im overcharging?!

Got to tighten up a.cpl header bolts more and exhaust bolt but pretty buttoned up for a half day run through.
I can clip my test light to my battery ground and touch the neg side.of.battery and no light.
Hopefully this thing will be solid this 2nd or 3rd.go around.

Did you do the 3G swap? How are you getting 14.5 volts? Awesome either way.

that's what ive been using since day 1 duckryder.
I did the full field test back in the day. lol

I will do more though. The paragraphs after the advanced battery tests are what I really need to do.
Need to get my instrument panel and gas gauge working as well...
I ran out of gas a cpl days ago at a light.

....no 3g swap just put a new alternator in. Thinking the $45 rebuilt ones are junk but I made sure they had my phone number this time in the computer for the warranty. My grounds wernt proper before so hoping that helps a ton. which it should.
Hope everyone is enjoying there trucks. Its cold and rainy here and I think snow is on the way. So I don't know how much more ill get done by the end of the year.
At least its a runner and driver and stopper lol. More than it was when I got it. Cant believe I drove it home in the condition it was. Even if it was 4am and a 10-15min drive.

thanks guys.
I do have a bond with my old truck. progress is slow. Its cold and wet here.
I did start it up and run it the other night or night before. I put some seafoam in the gas tank and oil. Gonna do my oil change.
Driving it was another story. I hit the brakes and it pulls to the right. Didn't do that so much before it sat for a cpl weeks. Started right up though.

Dang photobucket wanted me to pay for my pics so I went another route. Sorry.
I should try and fix it.

Ordered my floor pans off auction site. $68 or so. I should b getting em in over my xmas break. Also looking at instrument panel volt reg and getting my gas a speedo all working.

Awesome looking forward to watching more progress. That engine bay is so far ahead from where you started -can't wait to see where you take the rest of it!

We are beyond Christmas now curios to see what else you may be doing. Looking forward to more progress. The rusty drum brake pull is not a big issue if it cleans up in 3-4 stops.

Well im sorry ppl. No real updates as of yet. I did get my floor pans. Ordered carpet, fuel gauge float and assembly, taillight housing gaskets, and my instrument panel volt reg. Which is a mustang part i believe...
Still no oil change. Lol.
Gotta get my welder buddy over to help with the metal work.

Brakes was a fluid issue. I topped it off and it works.
Im leaking every fluid possible i think except for fuel.
I know my master cylinder isnt leaking so it must b a line or wheel cylinder. Gonna get after that soon.

How did you mount the fan shroud? My 67 does not (did not?) have one.

Engine compartment looks great!
