Mack's Sevnty MINE Ford.

Post by Mack »

Ok, first build on this rig was just over 20 years ago. Last year I got the urge to make it my DD, so here is how it has gone so far. Remember, Im not a bodyman, just a mechanic with love for my Truck.

One side of the bed was crushed so I learned how to reskin it. I could only find a LWD skin so I had to get it and cut to fit.

I had a hard time with one dent in the budy line of the door, so cut and weld again.

The 15X42 Swampers didnt fit the bill for a Daily Driver. First Set I tried was 37X13.50R15 Swamper M-16. Just didnt have what I was looking for on the truck so they got moved to my Jeep and I switched to Toyo MT 37X14.50r15 now.

I fought body work quite a bit. My home compressor gave up so I took it to my shop for a few weeks. Kinda sucked because this started out to be a Family project, and here I was gone again at night. I was getting close to trying final paint when the Galvy panel behind the hood decided to start peeling. I sealed the truck with a gallon of rustoleum over the urethane sealer and decided I would get back to it one day.

So, for now its black where it should be red, but I have driven it all over the state. Currently working on repowering it, then maybe back to try painting again.

Nice work and cool driver! That was nice that you got the kids involved with the project too, they'll remember that forever!
