67 Short Bed Build (10/23) Paint Pic

Post by 1967AceStroker »

Well, its finally come time to start working on my '67. One last look of the "original" before the transformation.

And here is the rust free donor cab/front end. From '71 F250 Camper Special.

Also going in will be a 351 Cleveland dynoed at 460bhp, followed by a C6.

I plan on many other upgrades, I can post the installations as I do them. And am going to try and frequently update so everyone can see whats happening with my project, but you know how that goes. I also know how much you guys like the pictures, so I will do my best to make sure there are pics with updates.

Thanks. That motor does makes 460hp, at the flywheel. It has stock 4v heads. My dad is the one who had it built years ago, and he has the dyno sheets and he said he would look for them. When he finds them I can take a picture of one of the dyno sheets and post it up.

Well today I did some disassembly on the truck. I removed the old front end. And I have the cab stripped of everything that I'm not keeping, and all the way ready to take off. I am going to have to wait till tomorow to switch the cabs, gotta wait for the reinforcements to help lift.

Those 4v's do make good power. I had one in my pickup before i sold it, but it was gone when i bought it back. My buddy kept the motor when he sold me my ride back. He went back through it with all the high dollar stuff and if i remember right it was some over 500 horse. He put it in his 66 Fairlane with 411's and a 4 speed. That thing was crazy.

For now, I am going to run with the factory gears. I'm not sure what ratio the factory gears are though. I plan on putting bigger axles and posi when I find a rear that has posi. And now that you mention it I probably will put a drive shaft loop on.

*edit
My factory gearing is 3.50 - Ford (3300-lb.), acording to the vin#.

Well, its raining outside, but the truck has a new cab! For now the cab is just sitting up there, and I just set the front wrap on to keep the rain off.
