carcrafter22 wrote:Thats the Nitrous Express mustang. I know the guy that helped build it. It runs a duramax diesel engine with a few upgrades, gets awsome mileage 35mpg, and runs in the 9's down the quarter miles and the owner drives it all over, try that with a gas motor LMAO!! I keep telling people diesels are the way to go and alot of them just look at me funny, its cars like this that prove my point.
This car is just 8 miles from me . The car is owned by Mike Wood, also the owner of Nitrous Express. My first run in with Mike was In the mid 90's when he was driving a Ford Areostar minivan with a 5.0 in it sprayed to the hilt. That was one fast little service truck

WOW thanks for all the interest guys, sorry for the lack of updates. Yes I tore the truck down and sold the chassis. I have started work on an even wilder combo that will blow the old setup away since everyone has now copied the 03+ crown vic chassis, gotta stay ahead of the game ya know 8)

The new chassis will still use the 67 F100 with alot of body mods but the chassis and engine will be where its at!

It will be all wheel drive (not 4wd but AWD!) so I can do 4wheel burnouts at will. The front pumpkin is a ford 8.8 and the rear is 9.75 from a new explorer, custom shafts, arms, springs etc. Frame is fabbed from 2"x4" .120 wall square tube with plenty of bracing. The body will be body dropped over the chassis so I dont have any weird angles on the cv shafts but still have a very low sitting truck. The width is pretty narrow (much narrower than the CV swap) so I can tuck the 20" wheels and still turn easily, try that with your crown vic swaps boys :P .

As for the engine its a similar isuzu 4bd1t diesel engine but the twin turbos are gone as well as the one off injection pump all replaced by bigger and better. The new pump puts out 850cc worth of fuel (thats plenty for well over 1000hp) and the turbos are dropped in favor of A turbo paired with a largish size procharger :D I'd like to see 700-750hp and come close to 1000hp with plenty of nitrous but that will have to be seen at a much much later date.

I dont plan on posting any pics till its closer to being done but rest assured it will be getting posted on here eventually, shouldnt be long now.

Thanks again for the intrest stay tuned.

Randy
