ok my plans have changed for my two trucks(update 6-6-08)

Post by SteveC »

Ok i recently posted about the 70 and 72 trucks that i bought. Today i got them hauled up to dads i took good look over both of them and came to the conculsion that the 70 is beond fixing the rust. the 72 only has 3 spots of rust and even that is small.

Now i know i was gonna part out the 72 but i decided to keep it and swap the body over to the 70's frame but keep the 70 grill.. the 72's grill has the sale pending and the trim on the 72 isnt the best but im sure that rjewkes if he wants can have the trim off of the 70. The 72 front end is disk brakes and im gonna keep that as well as the severlly stuck 390 and manual tranny.

Ok so enough of me blabing on and on ill show some pictures.

The reason im not fixing the 70 is rust and a lot of it

http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u223 ... 010060.jpg

cant see it to well but im accually afraid to walk in the bed its that thin in places
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u223 ... 010043.jpg

the paint may look ok from a distance but up close its spekald in rust
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u223 ... 010042.jpg

Is it just me or is this steering wheel to close to the seat?

http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u223 ... 010070.jpg

Ok on to the 72 i got the grill and lower vallce off ofr Fitzwell and then started on the rest of the truck so dad and i can pull the engine that is just barly seating in there

So there i set im gonna need some clutch pedal parts and related stuff to make this transition the 72 originally came with the c6 but it isnt there any more

I'm thinking the tractors in the background are worth more than the cowboy or the crap (depending on amount of crap)

looks like th intake is 64 or its original cast/mold date was 64 noted by the C4 at the beginning of the number.
