Ford BBQ

Post by Mancar1 »

Hows this for a FORD? Put a motor on this bad boy you could drive it. Gas side Wood/briq side and smoker unit. Nothing like some smoked, or just good ole BBQ meat after a hard day of BUMP work.
Right now I am doing hot beef jerky on mine. Lets see some BBQ pics.

That's awesome!!! I had a friend back in NC that has a 56 F-100 that is all done up and he had bought a parts truck too... Well he was building a trailer out of the parts trucks' front end that was a smoker!!! He sold it, so be on the lookout for a 56 Ford nose smoker!

I have the same grill, just without the smoker box. You'll love it! I use the gas side during the week when time is short and the charcoal side on the weekends when I have more time to kill.

I do love it, had it for a couple months. I have used the smoker box already, put the meat in the main box and fuel in the smoker box. It does great. Doing some jerky right now. Thanks.

I am going to have to nab a pic of our volunteer FD BBQ. Our fire chief to an 80's F150 and put a big smoker on the back where the bed goes. Its only purpose in life is to drive around our small town and cook.

My family, used to be 70 or so of us. My Mom had 6 brothers and 5 sisters, add that to dads side 2 brothers and 1 sister, we had a grand size get together 2 or 3 times a year. The men would dig a big pit with the backhoe. Burn down some logs to embers and in would go a couple sides of beef. They would burn the fire down through the night and put the meat in at dawn then cover the hole, cook it all day then dig it out. Lot of work, I found out as I got older, but boy good eats. Sure miss those days. Times change, a lot of em are gone. That is the hardest part of managing the local cemetery.

hazelnut, when mom was growing up in Mexico grandpa would cook a cow head in the ground. mom says they would crack open skull and smear the brains on a tortilla. she said it was good eats?? the kids would also fight over the two eyeballs. their was 14 kids so you got to be first in line to get some eyeballs. their was also never enough tongue to go around. i guess the meat was the last thing to get eaten? any way i dont eat brains, tongue or eyeballs no matter how good their supposed to be.
