Bought one, so far it's been frustrating to say the least. I tried changing theexhaust manifold gaskets and broke 4 of them. The truck is a 69 390, C6 originally Raven black. Previous owner was a hack and cut off multiple wires and added wiring. I'm still trying to clean up the wiring and trouble shoot what I can. Luckily no rust through areas only surface.

Put the #1 cylinder at TDC and pull the plugs on cylinders 1 and 4. Put a dowel into the #1 hole and mark at convenient point such as where it exits the cylinder head. Do the same for #4. Measure the distance between them. If the distance is 3.78 you have a 390. If it is 3.5 you have a 360. It's amazing how many 360's suddenly turn into 390's on sale day.

Finished taking off the heads on my 390. Somebody decided to use e5 exhaust manifolds with a smogger manifold leaving a 1x2 in uncovered hole by the #2 and #3 cyl. Cyl had low compression, me thinks burnt valve due the massive leak.

I've been doing a few odds & ends on Frodo. No-one seems too interested in nice old truck, so I thought I'd get some of the little things done. Painted the inside of the passenger door. Tore the vent window assembly down, will be getting all new weatherstripping. I painted the black parts of the frame, need to find the split rivets so I can get the new vent widow weatherstripping in.

I replaced the master cylinder today on the F350. A few things I found out at O'Reilly's:
1) Lifetime warranty returns aren't very common after 10 years
2) They were very surprised I still had a 10 year old receipt

Keeping the folder with all the receipts and truck info pays off once again.

After a longer than anticipated hiatus, I managed to find an F250 bump in the wrecking yard that had some parts I've been waiting on.
It was picked pretty clean, but it yielded the hard fuel line that connects to the cab mounted gas tank (the one I have was cut), a driver's side windshield wiper assembly to replace the one that was vandalized, the trim that holds the headliner in place, and seat runners so I can fit a later bench seat.
40% off sale, so $30 and change for everything :D

Got to work on the ole girl today in prep for getting her to a body shop for body/paint work.

Removed the points for a PerTronix Ignitor II, flamethrower coil and new 8mm wires. Yes, she has awoken!! I thought I was having carb issues, still may, but now she starts just about every time. Need to see what might be causing her not to start sometimes until I move the gear sifter from park to drive or reverse, then back to park again.

Also been collecting parts to rebuild the front suspension. Picked up some rebuilt I beams with drum brakes from a 67 F250, new rotors, calipers brake lines, shocks (KYBs) and Explore front springs. One side just about done.

Replaced the transmission rear seal on my 1969 long box Ranger, 360 V8 with C6 automatic. Only took about 4 hours, laying on the garage floor using hand tools.

I replaced the turn signal switch and horn contacts, first time in over twenty years the turn signals have turned off by themselves and the horn has worked from the factory button. I just filled the cracks in the steering wheel with epoxy putty. Going to let it sit over night out in the shop and sand it smooth. One thing at a time and hopefully I'll get all repairs made before I have to start all over. :D :D

With the leaves falling I cut up a magnetic door sign to make some vent covers. Just lay them over the cowl vents and the leaves won't be coming into the cab. Since they are magnetic they stay in place even on windy days. Easy to remove when I'm ready to go for a drive.
