Ran the truck to work and back. Sleet and snow in, heavy snow on the way home. Old girl just cruised along without fuss.

Long story short after I got my Marti report and saw "telescoping mirrors" as an option I realized the one I threw away was a Ford part with a replacement mirror on it.....scored these 2 off eBay...... :D ......only 3000 built out of over 300,000 total with these as an option in 1968........

I brushed off the last of the snow and ran her to the gas station for fuel. Ran like a dream.

Finished up the power brake install......didn't get to drive it yet because I had to go to work but hoping everything works as it should.........

Still love that after sitting for 2 months that I can jump in, pull the choke, give the gas pedal 1 kick and it fires right up after 3 spins..........

Put my Remflex exhaust gaskets in hoping to solve the persistent leak i have on the passenger side.....the thin Fel Pro gaskets i put in lasted 2000 miles - hopefully from what I've read and advice from here that will solve it once and for all......... ..............then went to start it to check everything and was reminded that I needed to get a new starter....... :x .........discovered how much fun it was to get the top bolt out but once I got it out i found that the starter and the solenoid to starter cable are the originals.......off to NAPA for a rebuild instead of a junk aftermarket starter......... 8)

Cool to see this thread revived! I actually got to finish up swapping out the old Dana 24 for a new NP205 Transfer Case. Now time to get ready to swap out the old Ford Dana 44 for something that will take a little more abuse.

Not so much what I did to, but what I did with...
Saturday I cruised my truck on a 220-mile round trip to Shiner, TX and Gonzales, TX. I met up with some friends at the Shiner VFD car show, then we snapped some pictures in the Indian Paintbrush flowers, then I rode over to Gonzales to snap some pictures of a couple neat old gas stations I know of. Then, back home. It was a fun day!

Put Hagarty insurance on today and took the old girl for her first drive since last October - nothing finer than a sunny springtime drive in a bump!............ :woohoo:

finished up repair, paint and polishing the lower trim pieces now ready for re-install. Removed the old heavy "safety step bumper" and played with ideas of how to tuck the smaller F-100 rear bumper closer to the truck. Next repair, paint, and polish the mid body trip and start to cut and polish the body.

All I did today on the old bump was snug up the bolts on the transmission oil pan. I noticed a small oil stain in the street yesterday and let it go a day. When I climbed under today and seen where it was coming from, I wen t and grabbed 1/4 inch ratchet with 1/2 inch socket. Snugged them up and wiped the oil up. Hopefully no more drips.
