I was thinking last night, perhaps the company that makes those fragrant tree-shaped scent diffusers should make one with mouse scent for the benefit of people who don't normally drive mouse-infested cars. No charge for the idea.

It was anything but delightful.......trust me....

I like the idea of the air fresheners.......I know of a few people that I would love to put one in their vent system......

Rewired my ignition and converted to Duraspark II. I think the distro is off a tooth, but it's running, so I'll probably leave it until I drop the rebuilt block in.

Clyde got a bath!

Post by Steel Clydesdale »

Lol, Clyde hasn't been properly washed for ... uh, a long time ... I'm embarrassed to say.

Good lookin' truck, looks almost as good as det45's from his "What's it worth???" post. (Our trucks are the same color scheme and trim package. Alas, but Clyde only has 4x90 AC)

Wish I had more time and $$$. Then again, don't we all? LOL!! :D

Hope you all had a super Independence Day.

Haven't been back to Deutschland since I got out of the Army in 1990 and was wondering how bad the TUV was on it - I remember it being a pain for a newer German car and figure they are gonna really look something like your bump over pretty hard.......

I haven't posted in a while so here it goes:
R&R the 2 barrel intake and replaced it with a Holley Street Dominator intake/ rebuilt 600cfm Holley carb.
I eventually ditched the Holley carb for a new 600cfm Edelbrock.

Installed a Pertronix ignition.
New starter and solenoid.
New radiator and hoses.
Found and installed the correct "camper special" mirror for the drivers side.

The mechanical fuel pump died so I installed a Carter electric. It's set up to pull from either tank. The pump is great for priming the fuel system before startup.

The truck is running perfect except for a lifter tick that's irritating the hell out of me. It's the perfect excuse to get a new cam and lifters.
Nothing aggressive. I'm looking at the Lunati 10330201LK Camshaft and Lifter set.

That's it so far.

Well it wasn't done today but within the last week or so. I FINALLY replaced the POS carb. With the old carb it was really hard starting, choke out and crank on it three times until you were about to burn up the starter. I found a single barrel maneul choke reman and it starts like a champ each and every time. I also got new exhaust from front to back and that made a big difference by itself. I pull up to a stop sign now and think its died cause the engine is so quite I pat the gas to hear the engine. Rather then getting the core charge refunded ($70) I took store credit. I have a new valve cover gasket, oil cap, plug wires, points/condenser/rotor sitting on my desk waiting to be put in/on. I don't remember where it came from but I found newish looking distributor in the cab of the truck and will stick that in just because it looks better then what I'm running now.
