Guaranteed Carburetors - great people to deal with

Post by sargentrs »

Bought a reman Holley 1945 for my '74 Dodge Dart. Fit perfect and was adjusted right on the money. Pumped the gas and turned it over to fill the fuel bowl. Pushed the pedal to the floor, let off, choke set and she fired up first turn and purred like a kitten. Here's the great part.. Pulled my engine and forgot to unhook the throttle cable, bending the accelerator linkage 90* to the body of the carb. Tried bending it back but now it's all out of whack. Still runs good just can't set the choke. Called 'em up and asked for a quote to replace the throttle shaft and linkage assembly. Dave gave me an RMA#! Said they have an unlimited lifetime warranty on their carbs. I asked if that warranty even covered my stupidity. He said "Yes sir, it sure does!" Sending it back Monday and should have it back in a week. I'll continue to do business with them at every opportunity. And they even have Autolite 2100's. :D

That is a great warrantee. Not many places will do that. Its hard to rebuilt a unit and guess how the engine runs and get it to work right straight out of the box. I think you just lucked out there. I always assume that any reman carb or if i rebuild a carb for somebody I always tell them its adjusted to spec and I get the idle screws close but final adjusting needs to be done on the particular car

Oh I did have to adjust the air fuel mix screw and the idle but the choke linkage, pull off and fast idle were dead on. :D
