Dennis Carpenter shipping costs sale

Post by vettes2 »

I am not here to complain about the Company or the products. All very fine. Doing right by the customer, customer service, needs help. I ordered Mouldings for a 68 and did not need the entire package deal they offer and I could get NOS for less than half of the Repro stuff. I needed a new tailgate piece $65 plus $28 S+h. The 4 other pieces were about the same price, Plus $28 to ship(oversized) them each separately? I told her that it was OK to put all of the trim in one Package and I would be perfectly happy as the NOS stuff says it may have scratches and stuff anyway. I asked the order taker to make sure That they did Not ship 5 packages at $28 each. She would check it out and send me email or call back. A week later I get this 8 foot, 4 inch diameter tube with just the tailgate piece. No email or calls and no order sheet?
I called on the order and there was no other pieces on their order sheet?
So in the end I got what I wanted or didn't want. Maybe a $300 sale isn't a lot, except to me.

Doesn't matter WHAT you tell them they can do with your shipment, if the stuff gets scratched or dented because it was packed together when it shouldn't have been, you might complain. And I guarantee that people will do JUST that, even though they said it was ok for the company to do so. This is not to say that YOU would, but you'ld probably s**t yourself if you knew how many people actually do this kind of stuff, everywhere, every day.

Some people seem to live for :cuss: even though they got just what they wanted.

When we ship molding it goes in a thick PCV Tube , newspaper between each piece of molding & clips will go in a separate box with any other parts,, Now one thing to remeber is that Ups went up on rates by .04% from last year to this year & insurance is now 1.60 per used to be .80 & Ups service has gone down in the tubes,, In the last 3 months we have used Ups twice, All the rest has been DHL For the reason we never get the same charges by Ups,, Just stop & think :hmm: somebody has to pay for that race car going around circles & dollar to donut its not them in the front office, so who does that leave :dk: :dk:

What we do is go to the customer service center , pay for it right there & its over, Our customer service is open 6 days a week 8:00 AM -8:00 PM & That is why no damage, same as Ups for 4 years no damage cause bring to customer service so that part is not bounced in the truck all day same with Fed-ex also but cannot stand Ups or Fed -Ex rates We will still use DHL till they screw up too many times,, Ups wants to charge every day even if they do not pickup, also there shipping system has fried our cumputer twice & several other companies have done so, Of course no matter who you ship it still will get damage if they choose to just like they sometimes really don't care...

I work in the Sales department at Year One and the shipping automatically calculated by weight and volume. We package parts together in boxes that will work out and if oversize items can ship together then we do that, but as a salesman I can't tell them how to package it and ship it. They have certain guidelines they go in packaging. People sometimes say just wait till you have all the parts in stock. WEll our shipping doesn't change whether we ship one time or 10 times on the same order. All shipping is paid up front.
