4x4 rear driveline

Post by Doug Comer »

I am looking for a rear drive line for a short wheelbase f100 4x4. Let me know what you got, mines starting to vibrate a little. I know I can get one made, just thought someone might have one they don't need.
Thanks

Doug,

Check the slip joint in the shaft. Chock the rear wheels, and with the truck in neutral, look for clockwise/counter-clockwise play in the slip joint. Since you said that you just recently started getting a vibration, that leads me to believe its probably a wear item such as universal joints or the slip. I can repair your shaft with new stuff and save you the hassle of looking for one and potentially buying another one with alot of wear in it already. Feel free to call me at the shop, 864-597-1916

I made this drive line out of parts I had around. It has up and down and rotational wear at the slip yoke. And the u joints are shot. The tube and slip yoke are from different drive lines. I will try to call you monday. Thanks.
