Just joined from Florida

Post by s2per »

Hey guys, I followed a link from another forum and found the site....and it's great! I've had my '72 F-100 for about six months. It's always been in the Southeast with only a couple of owners and I am slowing going through it, but I also have other automotive projects going on that need metric tools. I've been wrenching as a hobby for over 45 years and I had to pull out some tools I haven't used in years (timing light, feeler gauges, 13/16" wrenches, etc.) The good news is I remember how to use them. The bad news is I still don't have enough time to work on it!

The truck - 1972 F-100 Ranger long bed. 302, C-4, 2wd, P/S, manual disc front and dealer-installed Ford a/c that still blows cold. Tutone light green and white with '80s Ford styled steel wheels. An honest old truck.

The owner - lifelong gearhead, white-haired building contractor with a garage lift. 200 yards from the Gulf and my next garage will have a/c!

Welcome from Canada, that's a first AC in the shop, most of us need heat like 9 months of the year. Good luck!

Thanks guys! I drove the truck the 10 miles to my office for the first time yesterday and ran a few errands. I got a lot of smiles and a few "what year is that?" questions.

Welcome Tim! :wel:

If you are in the Panhandle, I may see you at a show. I'm about 3 hours North but have friends near Destin. There is a spot to post upcoming shows/events in the list of forum categories.
