new picks.

Post by f26yrn04558-72 »

Here is my beast. 72 4x4 360 custom. She is pretty much all stock except the bed is off a 68. It has allot of rust, nothing that cant be fixed!! It runs awesome. need to replace the clutch and exaust manifold gaskets. I have receipts from the early ninghtys and a log book the original owner kept. She has over 325k. I suspect the motor has been rebuilt. Enjoy.......

There is supposed to be a cowl gasket, like a door weatherstrip, for the back of the hood. Mine has rotted away. When it rains water sits on my air cleaner too :( You can get new ones. I replaced all the gaskets, re: water pump, valve covers and intake to keep oil & coolant form getting blowen all over. Keeps the engine comp. clean. Is your motor a 360? mine is. You also asked me for a diagram for the plug wires, Hope this helps. There are numbers on the intake to match the numbers in the pick.

There are numbers on top of the intake manf. next to the valve covers. on the left side it starts front to back...1 2 3 4 on the right side...5678. The numbes the tape on the cap indicates wtat cylinder the wire goes. 1to 1, 2 to 2.
If you are mechanicly inclined the water pump is not real tough to get off. I recomend getting a shop manual for your truck. I bought Detroit Iron shop manual on disk for the puter, its ok, I think I'd rather have the book.

I had much rather look at black and white and pictures normally than having to go int hte house and listen the better half complain that I'm dirty and messing up the computer.
